Monitor Books

The Assistent Manager of Antennamonitor,

Johnny Woods, is the author of this newly published book.

Johnny ("Peacepiper") Woods - B.S and M.M. degrees, special diploma from Berklee College of Music, Boston.

College lecturer, jazz band leader with extensive world travels as a U.S Navy Band musician and a clarinet solist at numerous jazz festivals.

Now a permanent resident of Sweden where he studied Peace Reaserch at the University of Lund and the International Peoples College in Helsingör, Denmark. Presently he is retired and studying philosophy while writing poetry.

The maverick musician Monk Freeman invites the reader to participate in an exhilarating journey to explore the dichotomy between todays predominannt culture of technology and the decline in the pleasure of acoustic music making activities.

Monk questions relativism with its sophist value judgements- the notion of "new sensibility" and the "evocation of popular responses".

he argues that the secret inner power of music reflects and directs our civilization with the goal of uplifting our aesthetic and ethical values.

Rich in ideas on scientism and humanism with vivid descriptions of his travels and colourful characters, this book captures both the intellect and the emotions.
